Just woke up.

So... I just won a 185-pound pumpkin.

No, really.

I just woke up, to find a message on my voice mail, from Trader Joe's, telling me that when I went shopping there last week and participated in their "Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin"-style contest, and, evidently, I was the closest to accurate. So... on the one hand, this is awesome! I have a pumpkin the size of a twelve-year old! And yet, now that I've actually won this contest, certain creeping logistics must come into play. For example: what the hell am I going to do with a giant pumpkin? How am I even going to get it home? I take the bus to Trader Joe's! Really, I think I'm gonna have to find someone who has a car and wants a pumpkin for some reason. 'Cause I ain't got NO room for it, either. But hey... I won a giant pumpkin! That's, at the very least, totally neat!

ADDENDUM! At... 2:45 in the afternoon. Quoth friend Paul, upon hearing of my situation: "You lead a fascinating life sometimes."

Never, I think, have I been described quite so aptly.

Punpkin pie is delicious. Enormous pumpkin pie is more delicious. Just something to think about.
