Ouchies!

Man, what's the deal with headaches?

I don't mean this in the sense of 'why does my head hurt sometimes?', because a ten-second Google search will reveal that my head hurts because I have incurable brain cancer, obviously. I mean, why do they hurt so bad?

And again, I feel I must restate myself. I'm not talking migraines here, I'm not asking why they hurt so MUCH sometimes, I'm asking why even the slightest of headaches is more of an issue than the pain alone would merit. For example, right now my head and my feet hurt. My feet have hurt ever since I started working retail, and they will continue too for the forseeable-if-foreshortened future. And, when I stop to consider things logically, they hurt more than my head. I've a headache, yes, but if it's a 2 on the ouchdammitometer, then the foot pain is a four, at least, and yet it's the headache that makes me want to smash plates and punch koalas in pain-eyed rage. The head hurts less, but it hurts worse! Is it because the head is where the brain lives, so there's a level of subconcious freak-out added? Is this normal, or am I just a neurological freak? I mean to say, more so than I had previously been aware?
