YARRR!

Oy. Piracy is too fun for its own good. It's a lucky thing there's server overload and a dodgy Internet connection here, or I'd probably never stop bilge pumping.

And ROLE PLAYING. It's fun to go around saying 'Arr' to people. I never got into that aspect of games before, really, but there's something about being a pirate that leaves me free to adopt a swagger, spend hard-earned fake money on looking like a proper bilge rat, and spend time thinking about, styling, and punctuating elaborate and in-character pieces of dialogue like "Gar, Captain, it's been an honor servin' yer command and a pleasure sharin' yer booty, but the winds o' destiny are callin' me away."

And then the guy next to me says "g2g byeeeeeeeeee!!!!" and totally ruins the moment.

You know, maybe there's a crew out there which planks people for doing stuff like that. I can only hope to find and join that crew some day.
