A letter to my future self.

It is not a great day when a man is called upon to plunge another man's business.

Ugh. Putting that as far out of my mind as humanly possible, it's also not a great day when the next day is the day Spring Break is over and he has an essay to write. It's not a bad day, per se, but it's not ideal. The folk I know who recently were college students and have now entered the working world have many times repeated to me, as if it were solid fact, that in time, I will wish that I could go back to college. I grandly suspect that I, too, when I break into the world of Adults in the near future, will think to myself that I wish I could go back to college.

BULLSHIT, future me! You're confusing "being in college" with "not having to do whatever job it is I'll have at this point (presumably awful)"! College was a generally lame experience made BEARABLE by certain factors (learning, friends, parties, etc.) which, while associated with, are not integral to the collegiate experience! You're welcome to PREFER college to whatever hellish lifescape I'm going to make for you, but by gods man, don't wish you were back! What if THAT'S the wish that comes true! You COULD have wished for a monster truck, but no, you're back in this over-idealised meh-pot! THINK, man, THINK!

...plunging another man's business?

That sounds like the title for a particularly explicit erotic film involving nothing but male cocks and asses.

Either that, or nobody else knows how a plunger works in your house, and you had to make sure that the toilet flushes.

It's the latter, regrattably. Yes, I'd rather it have been an erotic man-film... I hates my roomates sometimes.
