A librarian?
I took a career counceling test a few weeks back, and am just now getting to dealing with what it's telling me. And it said I should be a librarian. Now, to be fair, it told me to be about a half-dozen thinks in addition to being a librarian; technical writer, computer programmer, and college professor being among the big hits. But Librarian, eh? That's the one that convinced me, in one word, that career counceling wasn't a waste of time. That's the "oh hey, I hadn't thought of that" option. The nerve-striker, if you will, in a good way of course.
O'course, it means going to grad school. And I'm going to max out at 50K a year, most likely. And libraries are occatioanlly haunted. But hell, it sounds like fun all the same. Like the good parts of working at a book store.
Showing people where things are, and shelving things. These are fun. Making space for ten thousand boxes of kids books... that's where hell lives.
you could try to work your way up to library director, they make good money.
