Automocar!

Ooof. Today I learned the hard way that the buses stop running at seven, not eight. I also learned that Borders is, technically, walking distance from my home. Techinically.

Well, it's finally happened; most people my age have known what it's like for years now, but I'm not like most people. The feeling just never hit me until today: I want a car. Now, to be fair, I still don't 'get' cars: I have no idea how one judges a car aesthetically, and any eventual purchase of the sort will be guided not by emotional resonance but by the Three Guiding Principles: how much does it cost, how well does it run, and does it have an ejector seat. Invariably the latter answer will be 'no', but such is life. It's not even that I actually want a car, it's just that I've come to a point in my life where having an automobile will make things more convenient, as opposed to drastically less so.

Honestly, I just never want to walk three and a half miles after working eight hours again. Because let me tell you, ouch.

Anything is walking distance from anywhere...once.

I am an anonymous stranger who happens to live exactly three and a half miles from where I work. Like you, I don't 'get' cars. The buses where I live aren't very convenient, either. But I find transportation no problem because I have a ... bicycle! Yes, it's nature's perfect means of conveying one person three and a half miles in under half an hour. I actually look forward to the ride home every day after working eight hours or more.

Prefers Sane Transportation

In need of a haircut? Haha, not hardly.
